Yvette Coleman, a former student of Dr. Gary Graham, is lauded for her virtuosity captivating audiences with manifold styles of voice including opera, art-song, jazz, pop and musical theatre. Yvette graduated from The University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Performance Voice studying under the tutelage of soprano Mrs. Elizabeth McDonald. She has trained at the Vancouver International Song Institute, the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, St. Andrew’s Vocal Technique Program, and the Center for Opera Studies in Sulmona, Italy.
Over the last three years, Yvette has worked consistently as a songwriter, recording artist, and demo singer for producers and musicians alike, garnering attention from the representation of artists like Rihanna, DJ Snake, Flight School, Tim North, Kehlani, Kiso and others. From the shores of Newfoundland to the coasts of California, and based in the heart of Toronto, Yvette has spent her time travelling and writing with talent from all corners of the world developing her solo artist project “Yvette” to be released this year.
Yvette has worked as a show-developer, director, and performer for several productions within the Gros Morne Summer Music Festival for the last 11 years. She sits as part of the vocal faculty at The Graham Academy and is also the singer, dancer, and actress of Dark By Five - an ensemble composed of eight world-class chamber musicians and an award-winning theatre director best known for spinning classical and contemporary music into stories on stage.
Formerly known as ‘Saint Yves’ - a group just recognized as a 2020 East Coast Music Nominee - Yvette’s collaborations, covers, and original releases have received more than four million streams on Spotify, appearing on various playlists like Canada's Viral Top 50, and airing on radio stations across Canada and the US.
