Katie Barrett

Katie was born and raised in the thriving music scene in Corner Brook. She holds a Bachelors degree in trumpet performance, a Music Education Degree from Memorial University and a Masters in Education from Mount Saint Vincent University. She is currently the music teacher at Corner Brook Intermediate where she teaches a wide range of instrumental courses within her program. She has joined the talented team at Graham Academy where she is the music director for the junior and senior programs. Katie has performed and worked with several orchestras, bands and choirs over the years some including, Shallaway Youth Choir, Lady Cove Women’s, BIMA, NSO, Long Island Youth Orchestra, Jazz East Big Band, Jazz West, The Halliday Band and has played in many musicals. Katie believes that music is such an integral part of a culture and community and is excited to start up Silvern Voices Youth Choir.
