The Chorale

We are so excited to be able to share an opportunity that we’ve been looking forward to launching for a number of years – an adult community-based choir. Camber Arts has a longstanding tradition of creating community through choral singing, largely due to our long-time former chair, the late Dr. Gary Graham. We’ve had choirs sing together alongside numerous performers in our summer seasons, under the direction of “Mr. G,” even boarding a bus to take the stage to perform in Woody Point, as well as performing here in Corner Brook. We are thrilled to offer this new choral experience, helmed by Michael Barrett, a former student of Mr. Graham’s who went on to work nationally with numerous opera companies in Canada, including the Canadian Opera Company, and coincidentally one of the performers on our stage that has been supported by one of our summer community-based choirs.

This choir – the Chorale, will offer a musical community to adults in the region, meeting weekly on Sunday evenings (6:30 – 7:30 PM) to come together in song. It will not require an audition and will be entirely free of charge due to the support of a generous benefactor.

Silvern Voices

Silvern Voices is excited to be going into their second year together as a youth choir in Corner Brook. Led by choral director Katie Barrett, their goal is to foster the love of choir and to continue a long-standing choral tradition in the community. Their first year together was one full of opportunities to share the stage with some of the most influential singers and choirs in our province, including Petrina Bromley, David Pomeroy, Wendy Woodland, Lady Cove, Newman Sound, NL Deaf Choir, and many more! They ended their first year together on a very positive note by placing first in their category in the FCMF National Music Festival. If you are a youth in grades 9-12 and would like an opportunity to sing in a fun and supportive group - join us for year 2!
