Lucas Upward

Lucas Upward is a musician from Corner Brook, NL. He has studied piano for 10 years, and has played the saxophone and clarinet for 5 years. Lucas has achieved level 6 piano in the RCM program, and is currently working towards his level 8. Over the years, he has competed in the Rotary music festival many times. In 2022, Lucas was awarded the senior Rose Bowl for his clarinet performance. He has been a section leader in wind ensemble for 3 years, along with working individually with many students to refine their skills. Lucas has also worked with the Canadian Cadet Organization as a music instructor, where he has achieved both theory levels and playing levels in clarinet.

Lucas is a well rounded musician, with experience in multiple areas. He has worked with large and small ensembles, instructed beginner musicians, as well as having instructed more experienced students to further refine their skills. He has also worked with students of all skill levels to improve their knowledge of theory. Lucas is excited to teach piano, clarinet, and saxophone at Graham Academy!
