Nick Hamlyn has been a performing musician in Corner Brook for nearly fifteen years. He’s done countless shows as a solo act, part of various duos and with his bands, the Mayhem and the Nick Hamlyn Band. Nick is a performer that prides himself on “genre-hopping”, having performed tributes to Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, Ron Hynes, Stan Rogers, John Prine, Motown, Bob Dylan and more, his tastes in music are broad and erratic. His stage experience includes the Off-Broadway Player’s production of RENT, Hard Ticket’s Mr. Burns: A Post-Electric play and Gros Morne Summer Music’s improv and sketch comedy show The Reele and Trewe History of New Founde Land.
Nick has ten years of experience teaching guitar, bass, ukulele, mandolin, rock ensemble and self-accompaniment/
performance to a wide variety of students of all ages and experience levels and has always taught with an emphasis on fun and music appreciation. His musical heroes include Joel Plaskett, The Barenaked Ladies, Willie Nelson, Warren Zevon and Chris Thile.
